Object Identification Based on Multi-remote Sensing Images in the Lacking Area of 1:50 000 Topographic Map of Tibetan Plateau

چکیده
The lacking of 1:50000 topographic maps in western China is inconvenient to the national economic development. The rapid development of space technology, computer technology and information technology provides technological support for the remote sensing application. In addition, the enhancement of ability of obtaining hyper-resolution data provides data for feature extraction of ground objects. This paper employs SPOT5 RS image, based on the schema standard of 1:50000 topographic maps, to interpret the Qixiangcuo region in the Tibetan Plateau. The results indicate that the SPOT5 can meet the needs for 1:50000 topographic mapping. In order to further improve the interpretation multi-temporal and multi-resolution image are suggested to be used to interpret ground objects in 1:50000 topographic maps. * Corresponding author. Introduction: Along with the climate, Soil is an essential natural resource. Although soil studies in Iran have been started more than 50 years ago, the soil map of the country has not been fully prepared yet, and only 20-25% of the lands have been mapped already. Many soil maps of Iran need to be updated, but the common methods in soil mapping are costly and time-consuming. Hence, using data o...

Automatic identification and localization of cartographic objects in aerial and satellite images have gained increasing attention in recent years in digital photogrammetry and remote sensing. Although the automatic extraction of man made objects in essence is still an unresolved issue, the man made objects can be extracted from aerial photos and satellite images. Recently, the high-resolution s...

The Tibetan Plateau, the world’s largest orogenic plateau, hosts thousands of lakes that play prominent roles as water resources, environmental archives, and sources of natural hazards such as glacier lake outburst floods. Previous studies have reported that the size of lakes on the Tibetan Plateau has changed rapidly in recent years, possibly because of atmospheric warming. Tracking these chan...

Water plays a vital role in the development of activities in an area. The surface water resources are inadequate to fulfill the water demand. Productivity through groundwater is quite high as compared to surface water, but groundwater resources have not yet been properly exploited. Keeping this view, the present study attempts to select and delineate various groundwater potential zones for the ...
